An academic think tank bringing together scholars and practitioners to examine evolving geopolitical, military, and national security challenges.
The Weekly Strategic Roundtable (WSR) was conceived on August 12, 2024, from a simple yet compelling idea—to create a sustained intellectual space where scholars could engage in rigorous dialogue on issues of strategic importance. What began as an informal exchange soon evolved into a structured academic platform, institutionalizing weekly engagements every Tuesday, with clearly defined roles of Speaker, Rapporteur, and Moderator to ensure both analytical depth and disciplined discourse. The inaugural session on August 13, 2024, marked the beginning of this journey, setting a serious and reflective tone that continues to define WSR. Over time, it has grown into one of the department’s most vibrant academic initiatives, spanning over 45 sessions across diverse formats including classroom presentations, extempore discussions, debates, and online engagements. These interactions have not only strengthened critical thinking and clarity of expression but have also fostered a culture of inquiry, participation, and intellectual confidence among scholars.
Over time, WSR has grown beyond the classroom, engaging academicians across India and fostering a dynamic space where ideas are exchanged, questioned, and refined. Extending beyond the confines of the campus, WSR has actively engaged academicians from across India, while its discussions and key insights have been disseminated through digital platforms, amplifying its reach and relevance. At its core, WSR represents a commitment to transforming information into insight and dialogue into strategic understanding—creating a dynamic forum where scholarship informs perspective, and ideas evolve into meaningful contributions to the study of strategy and national security.
